We would have to write an epic novel to fully explain.

"We would have to write an epic novel to fully explain how amazing our experience was in Nicaragua and specifically at Casa de Cooper :). The house was absolutely gorgeous inside and out and so spacious for our family of 4 adults/4 children. We loved the beautiful architectural details especially the bathroom sinks, which were carved out of stone. The kids loved the pool, which they couldn't wait to get back to after our daily excursions to town or the local beaches. The views from the many balconies were beyond gorgeous. We could see the ocean, sunsets, fishing boats in the harbor, the statue of Christ, amazing cliff side homes, the forest where we zip lined, fields of green where horses and cattle grazed, and banana trees growing all around the house. We loved seeing flocks of green parakeets fly past us and waking up to the sounds of roosters crowing. George and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about things to do and places to eat. Weeks before we even arrived George helped us so much by recommending a transportation company to help us get from the airport to Granada, Ometepe, San Juan del Sur, and then back to the airport - such a gift b/c we had 8 in our party. George also provided us with a guide book to help us plan our stay in San Juan del Sur. We went zip lining, took surf lessons from a well-known and fantastic surf instructor, Baldo, went horseback riding on the beach, watched traditional Nicaraguan dancing at El Timon's, shopped at the local Pali market, and even went sailing. We were so thankful to also have access to the Pelican Eyes resort's staff for local transportation and for the most amazing snorkel/sunset sailing trip ever along the northern beaches. We can't wait to come back to Nicaragua, and we will definitely stay at Casa de Cooper again. Thank you George, Sandra, and the Casa de Cooper staff - it was the most memorable experience of our lives! We hope to see you again soon :)!"

Wow! Amazing place to stay in San Juan del Sur.
Left on 10/01/2014 for a stay in September
My husband and I and two adult children stayed at Casa de Cooper for two nights in September, and everything about our stay was delightful. The owner, George, was very friendly and helpful both before and during our stay, making sure we had transportation and could find our way to the property and giving recommendations about where to eat. The casa is so beautiful and the construction is impressive. It is equipped with a/c, fans, hot water, drinking water, a full kitchen, wifi, and very large bathrooms and bedrooms. The views are stunning and overlook both the beach and an interesting farm. What a wonderful location! It is within the Pelican Eyes resort but it feels isolated and private. We walked to the beach and the town a few times and had no trouble whatsoever. We slept with the fans on and the windows open and enjoyed very much the animal sounds and breezes. Light sleepers might not appreciate the roosters and the donkey... We hope to visit Casa de Cooper again, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone traveling to Nicaragua. Be aware that there are stairs in the house and the property is up the hill from the beach. We enjoyed the walk and the views and didn't have a single complaint about our stay. A+

Pleasant Surprise
Date of Stay April 19
For many years we have rented other vacation properties in San Juan del Sur and surroundings during Easter and other holidays; generally, all has been good options, with acceptable amenities and conditions. But this was our first time at this property and for our pleasant surprise, exceeded all our expectations. Their rooms are very spacious, has central air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, pool and jacuzzi, several balconies and terraces, cable TV, high speed internet, daily housekeeping, etc.. Definitely we are willing to return to this fantastic vacation property to continue enjoying other holidays and any trip to this beach with friends.Buck C. from South Carolina, USA said... Nov 20,
Beyond Amazing
Date of Stay November 15
I travel with the intent of immersing myself with the people and the culture as much as is practical yet at times I find myself desirous of " a little bit of home" as in terms of the amenities offered. My stay at Casa Cooper exceeded the comforts of my home! MERCY!! The apartment was equipped with any modern convenience one could want and some one would never expect to necessarily find in Central America. Other reviews have listed them in detail so I will forgo duplicating the endless listing of amenities, but WILL make mention specifically of the bed, linens and towels. Five star resorts have nothing on these items; towels so plush.... crisp fresh quality high thread count sheets on a mattress second to none! Couple that with a never ending hot water shower in a bath that is to die for....if only to be able to stay longer. And while SJDS is known for its beautiful sunsets over the water, the morning view looking out towards the mountains is as impressive if not more so. I enjoyed having morning coffee while watching the large working farm below awaken to the beginning of another day; cattle herded up and moved to other areas to graze, goat herds being moved about as the herd of horses grazed yet another pasture! Topping all of this off is the enjoyable and pleasurable company of George Cooper. George is a storehouse of information of Nicaragua both in and around San juan del Sur and the rest of Nicaragua. If you wish a reprieve from the everyday hotels and such that you normally find in Nicaragua, plan a stay here. Certainly you will be delighted that you did.

Pampered in Paradise
Date of Stay November 2, 2013
My wife, Colleen and I have been traveling throughout Central America for over 20 years. The theme of our travels has always been to inject ourselves into the local culture, but every now and then we need a break - and that means pampering ourselves by stepping out of the mileau of Central American culture to reacclimate ourselves with the finer side of life. In our case, it was a pleasurable sidestep into George and Sandra Cooper's "Casa de Cooper," an oasis getaway in a country that is beautiful in its own right. We rented a spacious one-bedroom studio overlooking San Juan del Sur Harbor and watched two spectacular sunsets, both accented by a colorful array of red and yellow silhouetted fair weather clouds. The bedroom was dominated by a huge king-size bed tastefully made up with high quality bedding. The entire room is lighted with soft hidden lights bounced off the ceiling to give the essence of suffused luxury. We were pleased to find directed lighting above out bedstead for late-night reading. The bedroom also has a cable TV, Wi-Fi and a CD player, as well as a phone, which can be used to order room service from one of two fine restaurants on site. And, the amenities don't end there. The studio includes ample closet space and a kitchenette with a coffee machine, microwave, a refrigerator, plates and utensils. The bathroom is huge, with twin sinks for his-and-her grooming, a spacious shower, with a separate tap for washing your feet. Then, there are the two swimming pools available to all guests at this amazing 4-unit Spanish-style villa. They are big and equipped with water jets for maximum comfort. The key to success for any business is service and this is perhaps Casa de Cooper's biggest selling point. George and Sandra are often on the premises to cater to all needs. Your personal maid Kayla is always there. There's seemingly no end to the services. Attention is paid to virtually every detail, right town to the local artwork tastefully adorning every wall in the casa, which made our short sojourn a sort of home away from home. We were more than impressed. We were pampered.

Fantistic Place

A fantistic place to escape and leave the world behind as you rediscover your dreams. You will hate the thought of returning to reality. Views are awesome and so are the owners.
